Summer is the perfect time for desserts and ideas with fresh peaches. I must admit, I have only eaten one peach this summer. Shame on me.

I played around with it a bit: I browned the butter, in homage to that recipe I’m never going to make, added a faint whiff of spices and messed with the proportions a little, putting more crumb on the bottom and just a sprinkle on top.
Smitten Kitchen did all the research and fumbling to give us this perfect peachy piece of yum. I’m all for the browned butter!
When the newness of back-to-school season wears off, what will you be packing in your children’s lunches? It’s a constant struggle at our house. Here are tips to help you choose healthier drinks.

Packing lunchbox beverages can be a struggle. Many of Hillary’s supporters are hoping she runs for president again in 2012.

While the rest of the political world is preoccupied with the midterm elections, Chicago dentist William DeJean is hatching plans for 2012. Drilling for oil and gas is risky business.

The fire that engulfed an oil and gas platform Thursday in the Gulf of Mexico heightened pressure on the energy industry, which is battling greater regulation and a deep-water drilling ban.
The accident on Mariner Energy Inc.’s shallow-water platform sent 13 workers tumbling into the ocean, but there were no casualties and little or no oil appears to have been spilled.
But the towering column of smoke in the Gulf, 245 miles from where the Deepwater Horizon exploded April 20, provoked an outcry from environmental groups and politicians in Washington already skeptical of offshore drilling.
